When a pastor or Christian leader is doing the work of God, he will recognize the wolves in sheep’s clothing. Four times Nehemiah’s enemies attempt to meet with him so they could harm him.
When our priorities are right we can refuse meaningless activities. Nehemiah had his priorites right, “I am doing a great work here” (Nehemiah 6:3).
Since a meeting with Nehemiah didn’t work, the enemies try another tactic, slander (Nehemiah 6: 5-9). And then the ultimate, treachery (Nehemiah 6:10-14).
The apostle Paul wrote the the church in Ephesus (Acts 20:29-31)
“…savage wolves will come in…not sparing the flock. Also, from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore, watch…”
