Daniel is taken captive in Babylonia and bravely he refuses to eat the king’s food–yet he prospers. Daniel is able to not only interpret the king’s dream, but describe it (a great statue) in detail. The dream is a panoramic overview of history and the statue represents great kingdoms of the world, culminating in the Kingdom of our Lord.
The world may seem out of control, but God has it firmly in His hands.
He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings.
Faithful to their God, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to worship a false God. The Only True God protects them from harm.
That same God protects believers today who serve Him and do not bend their knee to other gods or idols.
