It is false to think a son is punished for the sins of his father. Ezekiel refutes this false teaching.  God punishes only the individual for his or her sin.

The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  The only solution for salvation is belief in the One who has the power to forgive sins and grant everlasting life.

Christians who sin will never lose their salvation, but they may die prematurely. Temporal death is a consequence of the Christian’s unrepentant heart. That is why 2 Peter 3:9 states,

God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

Do you have unconfessed sin in your heart? Are you weighed down with guilt or shame? Take time to confess whatever it is before the Lord. Do it quickly and avoid divine punishment, and experience the joy of the Lord!
